What to Wear in this Cold Weather

It's February, its snowing, and you are probably all freezing right now.  No one feels like waking up in the morning and getting dolled up, only to bundle themselves up in coats, scarves, hats and gloves! But it doesn't have to be this way.  You can still look stylish and ready for the cold.

One of my favorite solutions is the blanket scarf. Besides being the warmest thing you can have around your neck, it is also fashionable.  The great thing about scarves is that it is one of the easiest ways to complete an outfit, especially when you're running low on time.

Trust me, I would know.  I have had plenty of morning with only 20 minutes to get myself ready for the day and still managing to put together something fabulous.

I personally like to get creative with my blanket scarves.  One way is wrapping it around you like a shawl and pairing it with a belt to hold it in place.  There are so many ways to get creative with it!

A good place I like to shop for blanket scarves is Abercrombie & Fitch.

Another great way to stay warm is to wear a vest. You can never go wrong with a vest.  Do you like plaid? Feeling simpler with a classic grey? Or looking to be on the wild side with fur?

There is a vest for everyone's style. Not only are they warm, but they are fashionable and could be put over almost any shirt or sweater.

Looking for huge selection to choose from? Check out Macys Department store.

See dressing up for the cold isn't hard and definitely worth it! You don't even have to take too much time out of your morning to get ready.

Professional Yet Fashionable

This past week I went to Chicago on a trip to the DDB marketing firm. The email I received prior to going on the trip said "dress business professional". Now that I am beginning to go on interviews and become a part of the business world, I need to dress the part.

Being only 20, I wanted to look like I belonged, but still dress young and avoid that "stuffy" business look.

The fitted blazer is perfect for dressing business professional. You can never go wrong with a black blazer. It's the pop of color and necklace that bring the whole outfit together. The green shirt goes nicely under the black and the gold chunky necklace accents the green really well.  See? It's easy to put together a great outfit and still be ready for a business meeting.

Another option is the open blazer look. This blazer is great for both business and business casual.  For me, I love pairing is with a long necklace. I shop at New York and Company, it's the perfect place to shop for trendy business clothes.

How you choose to dress reflects how you feel about your job.  With that being said you want to make sure that what you wear reflects yourself.  You don't want to dress like someone you aren't, all you need to do is add your own style.

Welcome to College Couture

Hello readers and welcome to my blog!

My name is Samantha Gambuzza and I am writing about fashion in college and from my perspective as a college student.

When I say "fashion" I am not talking about ready to walk down the runway outfits.  This blog College Couture is going to talk about the different styles for a typical day in class, a night out or going to work.  Now that we have entered the adult world, we not only have to dress the part, but we also want to keep the stylish youth look.

In this blog I will also write about fashion tips and secrets.  You may be wondering what makes me more qualified than anyone else to write this blog. Yes? Well 4 years ago I became a part of the fashion world when I started my job at a high end salon. It definitely required me to change my wardrobe up a bit.

Black pants were introduced to the clothes in my closet. I learned the art of wearing chunky jewelry correctly.  Overall, being in the environment I have learned a lot over the years and have seen a lot.

I hope you enjoy reading the posts to come!
